Today, my boyfriend of a couple of weeks mixed up my name with his ex-wife's name. After he said it, he looked at me and said, "You knew it was going to happen." FML
Today, I was the best man at my longtime friend’s wedding. I got so into talking about our shared memories over the years that I accidentally called his bride by his ex-girlfriend’s name at the end of my toast. FML
Today, I was meeting my husband's old friends at his 20 year high school reunion. He introduced me as his 'friend from work' to his ex girlfriend. FML
Today, it was my engagement party. All was going fabulously, until my fiancé's dad decided to give us a toast, and completely forgot my name in front of all my family and friends. I've been with his son for 7 years. FML
Today, I got so drunk I called my ex-boyfriend and confessed my love to him. All in front of my current boyfriend. FML
Today, my boyfriend was introducing me to some business partners. As he was going along telling me their names, when he introduced me, he called me by my best friend's name. FML
Today, while singing "Happy Birthday", my boyfriend's mom said his ex's name instead of mine. Almost everyone at the party got it on video. FML
Today, I was reassuring my girlfriend that I wasn't cheating on her because I was sneaking around. I'm actually just planning a surprise birthday party for her. During the reassuring, I accidentally called her by another girl's name. FML
Today, I was watching TV and started freaking out thinking I forgot to wish my boyfriend a happy anniversary. I wrote him a text and after I'd sent it, I realized that the date is mine and my ex's anniversary date. FML
Today, during my wedding ceremony, the groom-to-be found it appropriate to blurt out about an ongoing affair with my maid of honor. They got married instead. FML

That is not an anniversary if you aren't married... anniversaries between two people were meant for married people to celebrate their years of marriage, commitment and love for each other. But I do congratulate you on engagement! Although, YDI for using your ex-boyfriends name... those things don't just slip, saying it slipped is just an excuse because that would mean that everyone could say for any given reason that it "just slipped".

WTF.... I was specific you idiot!! I have been married twice for your information. I said "BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE". Read past comments... they agree with me. My 8 year old son even thinks that an anniversary between two people are for married people and I wasn't even teaching him that. Anniversaries an annual... and if it take that long to get married, than there are some serious issues and not very good jobs. Why don't you take a good long look at reality and stop referring to the internet... open a book and look it up. You're just proving how stupid you are from your comment...

An anniversary is the celebration of an important (or meaningless, for that matter) event the year previous. Not just weddings. Example: Today is the anniversary of my first concert whilst being in a band. Example two: Today is my fiancee and I's third anniversary. We have been together 3 years, today. Example Three: You all are silly, thinking only weddings can have anniversaries.
