Today, my 17 year-old brother asked me if I used birth control. When I told him I did, he responded, "Isn't that like using an inhalor when you don't have asthma?" FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I had to explain to my little brother that my tampons weren't ear plugs. FML
Today, my dad handed me my refilled birth control prescription. I thanked him, and he replied, "Well, God forbid you run out and reproduce." FML
Today, I told my 10 year-old brother I was turning 23. He said, "You need to get a boyfriend." FML
Today, I was in my 15-year-old sister’s room when I found birth control pills. I told my parents, who responded by saying, "Sex is beautiful thing." When I was her age my parents caught me pleasuring myself, and smashed my laptop with a hammer, all while calling me "filthy" and "immoral". FML
Today, my family drove me to the airport. Before they said goodbye, my mom discreetly pulled me to one side and asked if I'd remembered to pack my birth control pills. Unfortunately, my little sister heard, then chased me through the security line, yelling, "YOU'RE ON BIRTH CONTROL?!" FML
Today, I overheard my brother telling his friend that having sex with a girl who's on the pill gives the guy female hormones and "turns you into like, half-chick, half-dude." He was serious. How am I related to this moron? FML
Today, my older brother offered me a cigarette. I took it and barely took a drag before he socked me in the arm and lectured me for taking the offer. He's an alcoholic, and smokes daily. FML
Today, I told a guy that I was on birth control. He decided that it would be best for us not to continue speaking with each other. I never would've thought taking care of myself would be a deal breaker. FML
Today, my father informed me that I was born only because my mom lied about being on birth control. FML
Today, my 7 year-old brother asked me what "horny" meant whilst in the car with my parents. When I wouldn't tell him what it meant he screamed, "I'm getting horny!" at the top of his lungs, and told my parents that I told him to say it. FML

Why would it, birth control has a plentitude of effects it can be used for. If only to regulate periods for example. Also in case you do have a partner you want to be intimate with, it's good to be already on an established birth control instead of having to go through the entire procedure of seeing the doc, getting the prescription, getting it filled, waiting for the right moment in your cycle to start taking it, waiting another week until it works safely.... Anyway, don't listen to a 17yo dude's opinion on birth control lmao it's wildly ignorant at best.

Yes, but it's not likely that you'll find a guy who is so drunk that he'll give you asthma.

It would be a bit weird if he knew the whole story about your sex life anyways.

Birth control isn't just for preventing pregnancy. It is also useful for regulating irregular menstrual cycles and mitigating cramps, both very common in adolescent girls.
