Dead to me

Today, and for the last week, I've been dreaming only to wake up when my dream-self commits suicide. I'm generally a happy person, so I've no idea why my subconscious is killing me so often. This time, I stuck my face in an industrial-size blender. I can still feel my jaw rattling from the impact. FML

I have read that in dreams death is more often about a change than your actual death. Perhaps your subconscious is yearning for a change. I think if you were actually suicidal you would know about it in your conscious thoughts. Normally, of course suicidal thoughts are a symptom of serious depression. But if you are consciously suicidal or seriously depressed I am pretty sure you would know it, not just experience it through dreams. If this continues to bother you it might be wise to see a psychologist or counselor.

This comment says it all. I do want to add that we are also generally prone to having disturbing dreams if we have been watching scary movies, or something along those lines. So OP, maybe also look at what you view right before you sleep.
