Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Today, I went to buy some Ibuprofen and got asked for ID. You have to be over 16 to buy it. I'm 25. FML
Today, while buying drinks, the cashier immediately refused me and said, “Don’t even bother showing me your ID, you’re obviously 12." I’m 31. FML
Today, I got refused a Red Bull because I didn't have my ID on me and you have to be over 16 to legally buy one. I'm 26 and was paying for petrol for the car that I was going to drive away in. FML
Today, I went to see a movie. While buying tickets, the girl behind the counter asked to show my ID card to proof I'm at least 16 years old. Not wanting to make a drama, I showed it. She took a look at it and declared it as fake. That ID is real and I'm 24. FML
Today, I tried to buy a bottle of wine from the supermarket. The scrawny, acne-ridden kid at the checkout asked to see my ID. I didn't have any on me, since I'm 37 years old and didn't expect to be asked stupid questions. I complained to his manager, only to be asked to leave. FML
Today, I went to buy some beer using my fake ID, when the cute cashier and I started flirting. When he asked me how old I was, I said without thinking, "Nineteen." FML
Today, I was asked for ID to purchase decorative scissors. I was buying them to make my wedding decorations. FML
Today my job started requiring all transactions regarding cigarettes or alcohol to have the ID scanned before proceeding. There is no way yo bypass this function. I carded a 60 year-old man and his 40 year-old son who both yelled at me for 10 minutes. FML
Today, I tried buying a video game that was rated "M - for mature". The Cashier told me "you have to be 17 to buy this game". I didn't have any ID on me. I'm 25. FML
Today, I bought a small bottle of liquor to share with my husband to celebrate our move. It took three hours at the store as the cashier, manager, GM, and a police officer checked my ID believing it was fake. I'm 25. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

You won't be saying "FML" if you were to accidentally kill yourself with those spoons.

I work for a UK supermarket and the id warnings that pop up on the tills can be hysterical like plastic knives and forks and Jack Daniels bbq sauce come up with "is the customer clearly over 25"

I live in Birmingham too, and I can vouch for the dangers of teaspoons. One nearly took my eye out once.

How are you Brummies using spoons? What are you doing with them?

Hey, teaspoons are a gateway man. Next thing you know you'll be buying table spoons until that spirals into a fork addiction. And if you don't get help quick enough, you could get a spork addiction. This man/woman may have saved your life. God bless

Were the teaspoons in a pack with other cutlery? In the UK, you need to be over 18 to buy a knife. Even if it is blunt like a plastic one, or a butter knife.

Probably not, otherwise OP would have said.

if it was in a pack why would the fml specify just the spoons?

Fair enough. But, it could still be categorised incorrectly on the database alongside knives. By law, if the till prompts you for ID you have to do it. Even if it is something that doesn't have an age restriction, like alcohol free wine.

Perhaps the OP plans to murder someone, and doesn't want to publically announce a recent knife purchase? (hmm...I can't seem to spell publicaly correctly).

Yes, damn those "Brtitains" -.- Remember class; when you insult someone, make sure you know what you're talking about so you don't look like a complete idiot. Even your own country is spelled wrong on your profile.

Wow. When I was a kid (about 10 years old or so), I used to buy beer and cigarettes for my parents and no one gave a damn. I guess that's the perk of living in a second world country :)) (and no, my parents weren't alcoholics or anything and I didn't have a screwed up/traumatizing childhood).
