Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I had a doctor's appointment. I left with referrals to both a dermatologist and a mental health professional. FML
Today, out of desperation, I tried a new AI therapist app. Mid-session, it paused and asked, “Before we continue, would you like to upgrade to Premium for $9.99?” My mental breakdown was not included in the free trial. FML
Today, after 8 months of horrific insomnia, I finally got an appointment with a sleep specialist. His advice? "Google it, download this free app, and call me in 5 months if it gets worse." I haven't slept more than 4 hours uninterrupted since 2022. I'll be lucky to be alive in 5 months. FML
Today, I tried therapy to talk about my problems without feeling like i am harassing anyone. After messaging a therapist for over 2 hours, I felt way better and finally understood. It turned out I'm in such a bad mental state that I'm a danger to myself and others. Police were called by the therapist. FML
Today, I decided to try an online therapy site, seeing as I have been feeling very lonely and don’t have any friends to talk to about my issues. After filling out all the initial forms, the site told me there was no one available to speak to me. FML
Today, I went to the local emergency room, upon recommendation of my psychiatrist, because I was depressed to the point of being suicidal. They sent me home because there were no beds available. FML
Today, I went to see a doctor about some of the memory problems I've been having. After the appointment, I could barely remember a thing he told me. FML
Today, after over a week of trying to get a hold of my doctor for a much-needed medication refill, he finally called back. Too bad my phone got unplugged and died in the middle of the night. FML
Today, I went to the doctor. I told her I felt down all the time. She asked me a few questions and she told me I was depressed. She suggested to go home and find the sources of my depression. When I told my parents, they started laughing and said "Yeah, right." I think I found my source. FML
Today, my mom read my diary. Then she frantically booked me an appointment with a psychiatrist. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

That's how "they" do it. "They" give you an app and suddenly "they" say you're crazy and need to go to "they" doctors. Then "they" take your money and control your mind. Mmm-hmmm, yeah.

I understand this, ive been there as well. I've learned some things are needed to be processed in person rather than through an app to be properly handled or helpful to you. maybe try the app for the less intense symptoms you have from a diagnosis you were given and go from there, instead of putting it all on the app. that way when you are ready/able to do in person therapy you have two helpful solutions that could be used as a coping mechanism for a short period of time until you're ready to go all in with a therapist. and if you feel comfortable can also recap with your in person what happened in app that you felt more comfortable to reach out online rather than to your person
