Be the hero

Today, I learned I will hand my daughter off to a complete stranger in order to provide help during an emergency situation. I don't know whether I feel proud to be someone who steps up in the moment, or mortified and ashamed that I gave my kid to a bystander so easily. FML

In an ideal society - you *should* be able to trust people enough to feel secure in your child's safety when assisting in an emergency. I'd say that while it could have been dangerous, you still acted courageously and selflessly. The reality hitting that it very well could have been dangerous will cause the fear and second guessing. These things are natural 💜 Mark it as a learning opportunity and guaranteed you'll have heightened situational awareness and reaction should a similar event occur in the future. Hope that makes some sense and make sure to hydrate, eat, and rest :)

I think this is one of those situations where you don't know how you'll react until its time to react lol.

You, (someone capable of helping during an emergency), freed yourself from a burden (your child) by giving them to someone less capable during an emergency (the babysitter) to provide help. Where's the ****** down side?

It sounds like you're trying to make a problem where there isn't one.

Be proud of the good person you are. A good role model.
