Today, I started a new job. The synopsis of my training was, "You're starting a job you're going to hate and you'll be fired for entertaining yourself while waiting for us to give you more work. But you're going to love being here." FML

Today, I started at my new job. The woman who I'll be working right next to 40 hours a week introduced herself with, "I know what your name is. I know what you're planning, and I've been sent to destroy you." FML
Today, I started a new yard maintenance job. Before the day had even ended, I got fired, because I apparently didn’t have enough experience, and I moved too slowly. It was supposed to be my training day. FML
Today, I finally started my first job. I also lost it, for being too "enthusiastic" and making my fellow employees look lazy. FML
Today, I started a new job that was highly recommended by a worker there. The same coworker that is now making my life a living hell. FML
Today, on my first day of work, I got fired after 45 minutes. FML
Today, I get to go to my new job and have the boss's kid watch me as I do all the grunt work, and he just sits there watching me, only to come and correct me on how to do my job. Oh joy. FML
Today, I was starting a new job. I got up early, showered, did my hair, put on my uniform, had a good cry because I was scared/excited that I was starting a future where I will be financially free for the first time. Then my boss texted me because one of his back of house employees is sick and he can’t train me until tomorrow. FML
Today, I started a new job. The hours are long, but I didn't mind as I could REALLY use the overtime. Turns out, they don't pay over time. I'm just expected to go "above and beyond for the company." FML
Today, after spending 5 years working towards my dream job, getting it, and while in training telling a risqué joke, I got suspended the next day, lost the job, and I'm now in a shitty admin job. FML
Today, at my new job at a funeral home, my boss threatened to fire me if I didn't "lighten the hell up" while dealing with our grieving clients. FML

For some reason the "entertain yourself" part feels like it means no cell phones, to me. Which, if that's the case, tough shit. I work 12 hour shifts doing repetive, boring assed line work and I'm not even allowed a radio.

Honestly you just sound entitled and pissed off that you can't listen to music or whatever they told you you can't do on the job. If you're bored, find WORK to do and stop complaining. You have a job and that's more than a lot of people can say nowadays.

We live in the same town small world eh? and that's how almost every job is you can never be not working even if they don't specifically give you something to do.
