Today, I get to go to my new job and have the boss's kid watch me as I do all the grunt work, and he just sits there watching me, only to come and correct me on how to do my job. Oh joy. FML

Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, after nearly two months of working at my new job, one of my co-workers finally explained to me that the list of tasks that our boss gives me every day are actually HER duties, and as I complete them, she just sits in her office and watches Netflix. FML
Today, I realized I get paid to hear my boss complain and talk crap. FML
Today, it's my first day as the boss, after waiting months for this promotion. Today is also the day my replacement, who I trained for three months, quit. Now I've got two jobs for the price of one. FML
Today, my boss brought his son in as our new manager. This kid has zero experience in our industry and yet waltzed into a £75,000 job where his sole responsibility is telling me how to do a skilled job I started before he was born. Plus half the stuff he tries to tell me is incorrect. Cretin. FML
Today, my mother-in-law became my boss. FML
Today, we had a family day at my new job. I used to have a very abusive boss in my previous position, who even slapped one co-worker across the face in the office, prompting me to quit. Guess who turns out to be my new manager's wife… FML
Today, at my new job, I walked into the office to hear my supervisor and HR manager talking about how, "the new guy isn't very smart, but we can get him to do the shit work for a couple weeks." Gee, thanks. FML
Today, I got hired and now I have to work. FML
Today, my boss told me that my attitude to work is awesome and that he'd follow my example of coming in half-an-hour early every day from now on. I relish those 30 minutes as the only time I can get work done without him constantly interrupting me. So much for that. FML
Today, I found out that a co-worker of mine that I had originally hired, trained, and mentored to work in my department for the past 4 years had just got the promotion that I had applied for. He is now my boss. FML

You didn’t previously assign Junior a menial and unpleasant task did you? At least he didn’t throw or dump a bucket of oily tools on your head… It can be difficult when you work with your boss’s son or daughter. A very cunning person with a good boss would use that as an opportunity to let boss see what a good worker you are. Remember anything you tell Junior or what he sees may get back to your boss. A foolish person might take Junior as a rival in the workplace and end up hurting themselves. The safest approach is to always be professional in your job AND remember Junior is potentially another set of ears and eyes for your boss. If Junior is impossible to work with you may need to look elsewhere but don’t quit until you find another acceptable job.

….that’s what training is. Of course he has to watch you and correct you.

Good thing with all the employers clamoring for workers you can get another job easy enough.
