Today, I was playing piano for a wedding rehearsal. Bored, I decided to pass the time playing through a book of music I found in the piano bench. Some time later the bride turned to me and screamed at me to stop. I had turned the page and had begun to play "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off." FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I had a piano exam, for which I'd worked hard. I went in, and the examiner asked me to play some scales. I was so nervous, I played 3 octaves and then realised I'd ran out of space. I might have then said, "FUCK!" really loudly… and she heard. FML
Today, I was the organist for a wedding. I had practiced for weeks, rehearsed with the choir many times and spent hours stressing. During the wedding march, the electric organ malfunctioned, adding on layers of random notes I didn't play. Guess who got yelled at afterwards. FML
Today, I was at a piano lesson playing a song I had worked very hard to make perfect. Halfway through, my teacher abruptly stops me and asks, "Did you notice that I rearranged the furniture?" FML
Today, during my choral concert, I was helping turn the pages for the pianist who was accompanying the singers. In the middle of the song, one of the pages slipped and fell into his crotch area. In a panic, I frantically reached to grab the music. Well, I grabbed something. It wasn't the music. FML
Today, I was teaching a ten year old how to play piano. Halfway through the lesson, she made a minor mistake, which, trying to be a good tutor, I corrected her. She smiled up at me, paused, then slammed the key cover down onto my fingers. FML
Today, I performed a piano piece at a school play. Everything went well until I got up and accidentally smashed my shin against one of the piano legs. Before I could bite my tongue, I'd already yelled "Fucking hell!" in front of about 50 second graders. FML
Today, I was playing songs at a funeral in my church. As the organ wasn't in tune I had to use an electronic piano instead. All was going well until in the end of a speech, I accidentally hit the 'demo' button. None of the grieving relatives were impressed by my drum beats and turntable scratches. FML
Today, I was woken up to my mom playing the piano awfully. I screamed down the stairs "you suck, stop playing!" Turns out it was my 5 year old cousin playing a recital. For my entire family. FML
Today, I had my high school piano recital. The entire time I was playing, one of my classmates sitting up front kept booing me and yelling "YOU SUCK" at the top of his lungs. He drowned out the entire song. FML
Today, I was at a very important music competition. When we'd rehearsed the song in question, the conductor said we were to repeat the last four bars of the song three times. As I went to play the third time, the whole orchestra stopped playing. I kept playing by accident and we came in third because of my mistake. FML

Eh, the rehearsal dinner is just an excuse for more lavish wedding spending and bullshit. This bride is dumb as dirt if she knows only the title, not what the song's about. Furthermore, she sounds like a Bridezilla if she decided to be offended by the song at all. Besides which, it's not like you played "The Thrill Is Gone" or "Ain't No Sunshine".

if she knew the song well enough to recognize it on the piano, without vocals, wouldn't you think she'd know how the song went? it IS your fault, but you don't necessarily deserve the reaction. so I'm not clicking either option.

It doesn't matter what the song is, you shouldn't be messing around during someone's rehearsal. You're their EMPLOYEE. I've played (violin) in probably several hundred weddings over the last decade, and your job is to do exactly what you're told and know how everything is going to go so that you can help it go smoothly. It doesn't matter if she's Bridezilla; today, she's your boss. Would you start humming in a company meeting because you were bored? Besides, rehearsals rarely last more than an hour tops. You couldn't just keep quiet for that long?

This would have been 10x better if the happy couple had just gotten into a massive fight and you absent-mindedly began to play this song out of boredom.
