Background noise
Today, a classmate posted a recording of a recent lecture on my university's Facebook page, so we could listen again and take notes at home. A few minutes in, I heard myself asking a question. I then heard snorting and some girl muttering "dumb cunt" under her breath. FML

Those who ask questions would make you stupid for a moment, those who are afraid will for ever be a fool

Well, you just technically called the girl a dumb ****. So, then by your own reasoning, you are a dumb ****.

I don't really see why this is a huge deal. It's just someone being obnoxious.

Vulgarity is the language of the idiots. Make sure she gets your order right next time you go to Burger King.

Since when does asking questions, stupid or not, make you a dumb ****?

I have some anxiety that sometimes makes it hard for me to ask questions publicly (some days more then others) what I would do is when the questions popped Into my head I would write t down in the column. If you're using a laptop, you can type it and put it in bold, then after class I would go to the front and ask or even email my prof. Just incase that comment makes you feel anxious or bad. Personally, I don't think you should let that person bring you down. You're paying to learn, so you might as well take it all in :)

This is a really good idea, wish I'd have thought of that. I have a huge problem asking questions in class. I distinctly remember when I was around ten, my teacher snapped and yelled at me in front of the whole class, making fun of the way I raised my hand up and was so eager to ask questions. Ever since then, I haven't asked a single question in class.

Wow, that's rude beyond belief. In really sorry that happened, I could see myself responding in that way too, I would never be able to ask another question!!!
