Same thing different taste
Today, my boyfriend and I were having a serious talk. He told me that I was a quick-tempered emotional train wreck. He then said, "You know how we talked about getting married? Now the only way I'd marry you was if hell froze over." He smiled, gave me a kiss, and went to bed. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me. I said yes. This caused him to panic, excuse himself, then take it back via text message a half hour later, claiming he'd been drunk. We live together. When he comes back home, it's going to be very awkward indeed. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home drunk. As he got home he asked me to marry him, I was going to say yes until he said, "Oh wait, wrong woman." FML
Today, my boyfriend's proposal speech somehow ended with him breaking up with me. FML
Too much pressure
Today, I told my boyfriend of two years that I wanted to get married eventually, and there's no way to talk me out of it. He broke up with me immediately. FML
Today, I was texting my boyfriend about yesterday, where he told me how much he loved me, and he wishes we lived closer. I asked him if he really meant it. Turns out he was drunk, and had no idea what he was talking about. FML
Self report
Today, when going to bed after a night of heavy drinking, my boyfriend told me he was in love with his cousin, and that she’s way prettier than me. Later in the morning, he said it was just "drunk talk." FML
Today, my boyfriend tried to hypnotize me into breaking up with him. FML
Like in the movies
Today, my boyfriend tried to be romantic by dipping me backwards and kissing me. He dropped me on my butt, then stepped on my hand while trying to help me up. FML
Today, I was cuddling my new boyfriend, when he went in to kiss me for the first time. Sadly, I reflexively kneed him in the balls. FML

If this is a serous concern of yours, talk to him about it when he sobers up. But I for one seriously doubt the truthfulness of "drunk words are sober thoughts," having said I would always love, cherish, and want to marry my ex when I'd over indulged in college once.

Exactly being drunk doesn't mean it's a truth serum. Some people would say some outlandish stuff when they were drunk. Doesn't mean they were telling the truth just means there was probably no filter one way or the other. Whether or not it was true is something else.

Exactly! Drinking completely ruins that barrier between passing thoughts and uttered statements. For all anyone knows, OP's boyfriend may have been so drunk that he somehow thought marrying her would prevent him from drunken cuddling ever again, since drinking also seems to lead to stupid thoughts.

Hey, marriage isn't for everyone, it does not automatically make your relationship better than anyone else's just because you got a paper saying something. :)

Drunk people say the darnedest thing..... If maybe a bit truthful. Don't look too much into it OP.

Te question is would you marry him?

if he was very drunk he was probably telling the truth, I see a lot of drunks who lose all inhebition about what they say.

Well looks like that relationship isn't going much further then.

When I first started dating my boyfriend, he also said he was never getting married under any circumstances as well. Now that's all he talks about. Our wedding coming up in the Bahamas.

Quit referring to him as your boyfriend. You ******* buddies.

You need to ask him about this when he's sober and available for a relationship talk. If you ultimately want marriage, and he wouldn't consider marrying you, then both of you need to move on and find people who are more compatible. The important thing is to have a real conversation about your deal breakers, not a drunk one.

People say a lot of things they don't mean when they're drunk. Ask him when he's sober.

People say a lot of things they regret, and quite often they say stupid things that are poorly thought out due to alcohol impaired brain cells . . . but generally speaking they do say what they truly feel. Having said that fears, insecurities as well as expressions of love and affection are often shared when a person has exceeded their limit and what is true today may no longer be true next week, next month or next year.
