To clear everything up: - they were dirty dishes going into the wash so it didn't really matter - I still have some dishes, but half of them are gone

Dishwashers actually disinfect your dishware. So there really isn't a problem if the dog licks it or not, they get really clean after.
Why the Hell was your dog in the dishwasher!?!?!?
He wasn't in the dishwasher moron!
OP, you are awfully touchy for someone who posts their fail on the internet. I saw your comment about the dishes going into the dishwasher anyway and that it didn't matter if the dog was licking them. Personally, I don't know if the dishwasher water temperature is hot enough to disinfect the dishes but I find it just a bit gross to let the dog lick the dishes I eat off. I have a dog myself and it never crossed my mind to let my dog lick my dishes. On a side note, you post something on the internet expecting sympathy, then you lash out when you get criticized. Are you new on the internet? You really expect people to give you any sympathy for something that was a dumbass move to begin with, especially when you come here responding with this attitude?
#141: A dishwasher can definitely sanitize dishes well enough to clean dog spit. My cat licks our dishes all the time (to get a little taste of yogurt or tuna). It's not a big deal. It's like saying that if you ever got poop on your hands from changing a baby, you'd never eat with your hands again because washing them couldn't get them clean.
XD please tell me there is a video of this!! rofl
That's disgusting! You're a dirty bird, OP!
At least they probably got dried :)
Super glue!!!!!! Or Dixie paper plates and bowls till you can afford new ones
Our late German Shepherd did the same thing, with the exception that we don't let our dogs pre-rinse our dishes and she didn't make it far before it came off her collar.

Why would you let your dog do that? Maybe this experiance will scare him enough to keep him away from the dishwasher.
I'm constantly baffled by your optimism, Keevarou.
