You sound like you want more than casual sex, you want a more serious relationship with someone who will do things like support you after surgery. Your boyfriend has made it clear he won't be that person for you. Move on. Also do you really think someone who sex is that important to is actually going without for 6 weeks? He's probably cheating! You can do so much better!

Why are you in a relationship with someone who has no interest in you beyond sex? It shouldn't have taken a surgery for you to see this was all the relationship was about. It's your own fault for accepting this relationship to begin with, and for not getting rid of this guy now that you've realized it's a problem.
