Man or woman?

Today, as I was walking home, I felt my feet slip out from under me and I face-planted in the slushy, dirty, melting snow. I rolled over, completely soaked, and attempted to get up, thinking no one saw me. A mail-man then passed me without offering to help, and said, "I've seen worse." FML

I agree, your life sucks (13014) - you totally deserved it (1241)

It's annoying he didn't ask to help, but this is not a fml. He'd seen worse, and you'll probably never see him again anyway.

What #4 said. Especially if the weather is shitty, he might have been behind schedule and didn't have time to help. I'm sure he's probably not only seen worse, but probably had worse happen to him with his job. I wouldn't say YDI, but not really FML either. You were already wet and muddy, there's nothing he could have done about that.

mailmen and delivery men typically develop back problems as part of their profession (lifting shit all day and carrying things), and it's quite possible that he could not lift you off the ground. he could just not care about your problems.

did you expect him to pull out a towel and a mug of cocoa and hold you until you felt better?

I wouldn't say its a YLS...but I would have followed (from afar) the mail man and when they walked into a building or far enough away, I would have knocked over there carrier

Wow, don't feel upset...
Just remember, he's a postman.
The only place in life he's heading is the mail depot.

#15 - On 01/19/2010 at 12:39pm by FernandoTorres

Through slush, dirt, melting snow, and people on the ground, the mail man has to do his job.

#16 - On 01/19/2010 at 12:51pm by Compass

Oh wow, you're sooo funny.

#32 - On 01/20/2010 at 2:22pm by iheartjustinsane

Why do people feel like others are obligated go help them when they do something stupid like fall down? He's not the one who fell, nor did he cause you to fall, so why the hell do you feel he should have helped you? I know it's common courtesy, but just because he decided not to help you doesn't mean he did anything wrong. Take care of your damn self next time.

if you're elderly, I retract my statements. if not, you deserve it for feeling someone had a responsibility to help you.

#37 - On 01/24/2010 at 1:23am by RandomGuy1234

FYL, that guy should die

#28 - On 01/19/2010 at 10:28pm by Frank155

mail him a bomb

#29 - On 01/19/2010 at 10:32pm by PottentialFML

Why is he expected to help you up? And why do you instantly think your life is f'd?
I think you have a lot to be grateful for - you fell in slush, which is a much better alternative to busting your chin open and breaking teeth (i broke 4 teeth and my chin burst open, soaking through everything and needing 7 stitches).
Why would you want anyone to help you? If it's slippery, the best thing to do is NOT to help - do you want him to fall on you?
YDI for having a negative outlook on life. fyl
