Today, some friends and I went to Cosmic Bowling where they have a blacklight. Everyone's teeth were glowing. Mine weren't. FML

It means they don't use tooth whiteners or toothpaste containing it, which really aren't that great for your teeth anyway. It means they don't have any of the fluorescent additives that are i whiteners that will glow under blacklight. It doesn't mean their teeth are yellow or unclean. The cleanest and whitest teeth in the world aren't going to glow under blacklight if there no fluorescent additive from whiteners on them. If anything, it means they have healthier teeth than their friends because they're not stripping the enamel off their teeth.

Unnaturally? Its a black light; therefore, white things glow. If his teeth didn't glow, then they weren't white. Do you find the look of yellow teeth attractive? Nothing agaisnt you if you do, but the norm is white, just sayin.

No. Teeth don't glow under black light, regardless of how clean they are. It's the additives in tooth whitener that glows. Not the teeth, so yes, it's unnatural.

Um, I don't use whitening agents and my teeth glow in a blacklight. Maybe the "whitening agent" known as toothpaste is the culprit..still..I think I'll have my unnaturally white toothpaste smile than non glowing yellow teeth

I just looked this up so I can end this discussion. Enamel doesn't glow naturally, but whitening agents glow blue under a black light.

Just because her/his teeth aren't pearly white doesn't mean she isn't taking care of them. I had bad seizures when I was little and the medication permanatly messed up my teeth color, even though I brush and floss every day!

I am gonna go with #23 since they tried it. really only pure white things glow good under blacklight and no ones teeth are that perfect unless they are fake.
and screw cheap ass whitening strips, splurge $100 for whitening stuff and trays from your dentist. they work fantastic and you get a lot of the bleach, which lasts quite awhile in the fridge.

If you're teeth were really bad they possibly would have glowed green. The enamel on mine is very thin so no matter how well I clean them they still look dull and a little yellowish and mine glowed slightly green on a ghost train ride. Might have been a slightly different type of light though.

I was going to say YDI but then again if your teeth are average I don't think they glow either. Don't use white strips, the only way they make your teeth whiter is by taking the enamel away. I learned the hard way.

The op probably doesn't use whitening toothpaste - teeth themselves don't really glow under blacklight people.
White stuff doesn't glow, shirts gliw because tide and other bleach substitutes contain phosphorous which glows under black light. So F their lives for having phosphorous on tgeir theeth.
your teeth will not glow naturally. your friends probably took tetracycline when they were kids, which leaves yellowish stains on teeth that will cause them to glow under UV light

glowing teeth means that there's bacteria growing that respond to the light. if your teeth aren't glowing it means there's nothing growing on them. congrats!

Some of you dopes make me sick. Teeth turn yellow naturally...this standard of white white white white white teeth is an invention of Hollywood and advertising. In reality, everyone's teeth yellow to some degree or another as you age; it varies from person to person. And you could simply be cursed with bad teeth; yes, it's genetic, and there's nothing you can do about it. AND...as someone else pointed out...medications can do it as well. Some antibiotics, such as tetracycline, if taken in childhood, make your adult teeth come in yellow or even brown, and nothing can whiten them. (And yes, I know these things, I work in dentistry.)
It's stupid to demand that everyone have perfect teeth...and the people I know with amazing perfect teeth either have dentures or bonds and veneers and other extensive work. So if the OP is that worried about their teeth, they should go talk to their dentist...but otherwise, just be content with the knowledge that your teeth are no worse than may other people's, and just be confident and proud to be yourself.

hey guys it's not fair to say YDI. Some people have yellowed teeth for reasons OTHER than not cleaning their teeth. I have one tooth that has a yellow stain on it and not even the dentists could figure out why, even though it was perfectly clean.
Having perfectly white teeth is generally not natural.
