Man or woman?

Today, I was working a haunted house. I have a really good spot where I hide and scare people. This really hot guy was walking up, and I jumped out and screamed. He punched me in the face. FML

I will follow your golden advice this Halloween. Expect updates.

#63 - On 10/24/2009 at 2:01pm by GreenHacker

Or: Guy and girl live in any place other than America and ignore Halloween completely.

#66 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:53pm by White667

Actually, a lot of countries celebrate Halloween.

#68 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:01pm by Witchcraft

Witchcraft is right. Halloween is in more than America.

#71 - On 10/24/2009 at 7:52pm by Ajjas013

So FML is really into deleting comments these days. Good to know.

1 needs to spell

#94 - On 01/24/2010 at 12:15am by newmanlyman3

If he was going through a haunted house he shouldn't be so on edge he'll punch anyone who scares him. Dude needs to calm down.

#2 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:17am by Tarynkd

I was going to say the same thing but I got struck by the "you're too quick!" crap.
But yeah, I doubt he didn't know he was going to react like that.

Generally, people shouldn't go to haunted houses if they're going to be so freaked out. I mean, yeah, you go TO be freaked out, but .... for example, classmates and I went to one, and one of them started crying. She said something about not liking scary things or thinking it wouldn't be so scary... something along those lines. I facepalm'd and was almost going to leave her ass there. Wasn't even that scary.
People who will react so dramatically and such just shouldn't do it. They KNOW what they're getting into...

#3 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:20am by DameGreyWulf

#3 I concur

Usually, I'll make a gigantic joke out of it. I know it's a parody, so I'll make a game out of making the guys inside laugh. 60% of the time, it works 100% of the time.

#8 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:30am by Reyo

so... it works 60% of the time?

#56 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:52am by flylikemusic

ANCHORMAN FTW! :D

#65 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:49pm by n3rdzgotskillz

This is bad, if OP reported it the guy could get in a lot of trouble. I say go for it. If he's going to react like that he shouldn't be in there in the first place.

A kid around here went to one drunk and ended up beating the crap out of one of the scarers. They called the cops, and hello police record.

#78 - On 10/25/2009 at 9:49am by indianabummer

Naturally, my first instinct upon seeing an attractive male is also jumping forth and scaring the shit out of the guy. That'll win his heart!

#4 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:21am by cowinvasion

That's my main pickup I use to get guys. Is that not right? :/

#9 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:31am by Tarynkd

She has a job to do, attraction or not.
Also, it could be a great way to meet someone, in a way. "You worked in the haunted house? Haha, you scared me good!" and then it goes from there...

#10 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:32am by DameGreyWulf

It only works well if you're among the half naked pirate wenches or something.

#26 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:40am by redbluegreen

PIRATES:
Because you don't see ninjas with WENCHES.

#28 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:44am by DameGreyWulf

What about a wrench?

#30 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:46am by redbluegreen

Those go with plumbers. They have ass cleavage.

#33 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:50am by DameGreyWulf

Hey, if you can't have cleavage up high, nothing wrong with down below... Wait, yes there is.

And who's to say you can't use your ninja skills with a wrench? I've always been somewhat terrified of those things since my childhood days of playing Clue and Bitch, Give Me My Money!
Also known as Monopoly.

#53 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:40am by YourMooseyFate

#5 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:26am by picturetaker

I was working at Realm of Darkness today and my forehead got sliced open when I got pushed into a wall. I know how you feel.

#6 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:29am by Erranty

The one in Michigan?

#11 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:43am by AndelleRae

Did he apologise? Or did he just walk away?

#7 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:30am by Chopperman

Hey, at least you could use that to guilt him into a date!

#12 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:44am by AndelleRae

Where is this! Man Australia doesnt have houses like this.

Hope u get better.

#13 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:54am by th

Well, we have heaps at the Royal Show but thats just once a year... and isnt there one in Movie World? Not sure...

#45 - On 10/24/2009 at 7:49am by vd

Arizona?

One of the haunted houses out here apparently uses real bugs and animals and whatnot to freak the FUCK out of you. I think they make you sign a release form that say it's okay for workers to come out of fucking nowhere and grab you.

#14 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:55am by allmidnighteyes

this sounds a bit fakee...

#15 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:10am by addie_love

Actually, this almost-exact same thing happened to the woman I sometimes babysit for. She volunteered at a haunted house and jumped out and scared a really big guy, and he punched her in the stomach.

#18 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:29am by Witchcraft

I worked at a haunted theme park for three years, and this has happened, among other things.

#23 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:37am by redbluegreen

moral of that story: don't work at a haunted house when you're preggers, because someone might punch your baby

#52 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:18am by the_stereotype

lmao win!

#69 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:14pm by jakeripp

Your next FML submitted is going to read:
"Today, I went on a date with an awesome guy. I got super hammered and punched him in the face. FML"

Oh, wait...

#16 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:13am by allmidnighteyes

Was this inspired by that "you can't scare black dudes" thing where the guy bursts up out of the trash can with a spooky mask on and screams, only to be instantly punched in the face by the dude?

#17 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:21am by Nakedsquirrel

So it was love at first sight?

#19 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:31am by Peroxide

naww, love at first fright... or fight.

#20 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:34am by allmidnighteyes

More like love at first fright. :-p

*edit* Damn it, allmidnighteyes beat me to it!

#21 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:35am by AndelleRae

Their genitals exploded when they set their eyes on each other.

#24 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:38am by Witchcraft

We're calling 'em eyes now?

#25 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:38am by redbluegreen

...and the people and room were suddenly caked in a thick layer of ectoplasmic goo.

"IT'S IN MY EYES! IT'S IN MY HAIR! OH NO, IT'S EVEN IN MY ARMPIT!"

#27 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:40am by allmidnighteyes

Alan, is your armpit an innie or an outie?

#29 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:44am by redbluegreen

Eyes, intercourse, it's all the same jibberish!

#31 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:49am by Witchcraft

"Lets go back to my place and come up with some real jibberish then?"

My new pickup line.

#35 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:53am by redbluegreen

You'll have 'em swooning for sure!

#36 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:56am by Witchcraft

I sure hope so!

Otherwise, I'll have to resort back to my eyebrow raising and natural charm. Blah.

#37 - On 10/24/2009 at 5:00am by redbluegreen

Are you implying that eyebrow raising doesn't work? :o
I need to re-think my life now.

#41 - On 10/24/2009 at 5:47am by Witchcraft

Oh it does. It works for Natalie Tran, but see, I'm not adorable enough.

#42 - On 10/24/2009 at 6:11am by redbluegreen

I love her!!

#44 - On 10/24/2009 at 6:53am by IFUCKINLOVETEA

#49 - On 10/24/2009 at 9:59am by redbluegreen

I wish I knew who that was.

To Google with me! *march*

#61 - On 10/24/2009 at 1:38pm by Witchcraft

...Do you love her yet?

#73 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:24pm by redbluegreen

I think I do.

I think I might have just swooned.

#80 - On 10/25/2009 at 3:20pm by Witchcraft

Fight or flight, eh?

#22 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:36am by nofxtime

probably a reflex. most guys punch things that scare them

#32 - On 10/24/2009 at 4:49am by hannah_elizabeth

ydi.... i totally hate those stuff. My bf did the same thing to a guy in universal during its horror nights....

#39 - On 10/24/2009 at 5:32am by xoxcinderellaxox

As someone who also works at a haunted establishment I sympathize with you getting decked in the face. It hasn't happened to me but it has happened to my brother who also works but in the corn maze.
People react differently towards things that scare them. Some get angry, some scream, cry, flail and practically fall over and sometimes someone's first reaction to getting scared is to hit the offender.

Where I work the employees are not allowed to touch the customers (for legal reasons) and the customers are not allowed to touch us though sometimes they try.

Longshot but perhaps you'll meet again one day on the street. Just remember to practice your dodging skills.

#40 - On 10/24/2009 at 5:41am by Shuri

after all, it means yr trick works!

#43 - On 10/24/2009 at 6:47am by zungg

*pretty well

Not pretty good.
Sorry, I just had to point it out.

#46 - On 10/24/2009 at 8:47am by Ohhaithar

Well, come on, seriously. I mean, what did you expect him to do after you jumped out and screamed? Did you expect him to ask you out?

#47 - On 10/24/2009 at 8:55am by kennythedude

Maybe she just expected him to scream and be on his way like most of the other people there?

#55 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:43am by Tequilamockngbrd

thanks, I'm working in a haunted house tonight and now I'm gonna be freaking out about the audience decking my lights out. I'm 120lbs and 5'0, it wouldn't exactly end well.

#48 - On 10/24/2009 at 9:35am by stfuminjakid

that's why I'm glad I'm a great dodger(or how ever you spell it) and I don't react from stuff like that

#50 - On 10/24/2009 at 10:41am by WhyworldWhy

i work at a haunted house too, that is unfortunately always a risk. the guy may not have wanted to go through but was forced by friends, and of course he was probably sent through first.

im sorry you got punched OP!! i hope youre okay.

happy hauntings

#51 - On 10/24/2009 at 10:48am by willowflame13

Why.....would someone punch you in the face if they're in a haunted house and you jump out at them? Isn't that sort of thing expected when you go to a haunted house? I mean if you did that on the street or something, YDI, but ......it's kind of your job..

#54 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:42am by YourMooseyFate

come work at acers of terror in leanord ND that will be a nightly occurance ofr you

#57 - On 10/24/2009 at 12:17pm by scooter50

Thats retarded. He didn't get in trouble? Whenever I've been to a haunted house they've told us 'you don't touch them and they don't touch you'

#59 - On 10/24/2009 at 12:53pm by xx_irish_rose_xx

Must have good reflexes.

#60 - On 10/24/2009 at 1:04pm by DeathShad0

#64 - On 10/24/2009 at 2:15pm by gibson324

arent you not allowed to attack the people who work there? regardless did it go something like this: http://news.holidash.com/2009/10/22/scarecrow-smackdown-halloween-prank-goes-wrong/?icid=main|aim|dl8|link7|http%3A%2F%2Fnews.holidash.com%2F2009%2F10%2F22%2Fscarecrow-smackdown-halloween-prank-goes-wrong%2F

#67 - On 10/24/2009 at 3:58pm by kisseshugsdrugs

Lol I'm working a haunted house too. I'm a guide, though, so it's my job to try to make sure that shit like that doesn't happen. I don't really see what I could do to stop it though.
And think about it this way, you obviously scared the shit out of him!

#70 - On 10/24/2009 at 5:52pm by alirson

Jerk. Every haunted house I've been to has clearly marked signs/instructions, DON'T TOUCH THE ACTORS. Hope your face is okay :)

#74 - On 10/24/2009 at 11:52pm by Kelishas

What a DICK.
He should have had the decency not to hit a woman.

#75 - On 10/25/2009 at 12:45am by Srain

the person that hit OP obviously didnt know it was a woman because when ppl work at a haunted houses your all covered in make up or in a costume and plus its also dark. and hitting OP was clearly not intentional

#77 - On 10/25/2009 at 5:40am by fck_evry1s_lyfe

WTF does it matter whether they got an innie or an outie? You shouldn't hit *anyone*, dude.
Stupid misplaced 'chivalry'.

#79 - On 10/25/2009 at 10:16am by Prawn

And I would have gotten away with it too of it weren't for you meddling kids! And your stupid dog too!

#76 - On 10/25/2009 at 4:30am by Ninjaface

"Fight or Flight Reaction"

That's why all actors in Theme Parks during events like this are FORBIDDEN to touch the customers just for that reason. I should know, I worked at Halloween Horror Nights (Universal Studios, Orlando Florida) for years, and thankfully it has never happened to me, but I've seen co-workers get broken noses from stupid, DRUNK, people who lose all sense of what's the 'logical' thing to do. Either "Fight or Flight".

#81 - On 10/25/2009 at 3:57pm by Psychomaze

I bet he feels like a dick.

#82 - On 10/25/2009 at 6:15pm by ReecesPieces

I'm sorry :/

#83 - On 10/25/2009 at 6:43pm by fail_1

LMAO gutted :P

#84 - On 10/25/2009 at 9:23pm by hxc1

LOL, i'd be rich if i got a nickel for everytime this happens

#85 - On 10/26/2009 at 2:20am by EveryDayJackAss

maybe the guy somehow forgot that he was inside of a haunted house until he saw u and sneezed and punched you in the face. thats really the story. lets stick too it

#86 - On 10/26/2009 at 11:22pm by twoCrow21

Nightfall amirite amirite?

#87 - On 10/26/2009 at 11:55pm by tydude94

Well, I can't say its your fault but a performer should be trained to never go beyond an arms length in distance unless they intend to risk their own safety for the sake of "their art". Resetting back to your spot would have helped, too.
But hey- not everyone is trained and I'm guessing it was a humble haunted house at a friend's place.

#89 - On 10/27/2009 at 11:11am by Aha_Its_Johnny

#89 It's hard to judge an "arms length" in little to no lighting, or even strobe lighting.....It's even harder when you are in a maze with them and there is only about 5 feet of room to work with.

#93 - On 10/28/2009 at 2:38am by Amb3rDucki3

haha yeah Fright Night! I can't go this year. No time, & the only time I have time, it's gonna be pissing rain. Grr @ Vancouver. (but I still love it).
P.S. Fave ride = crazy beach party :)

#90 - On 10/27/2009 at 11:21pm by chrissy888

what a big manly man. Be awesome if he punched babies too.

#91 - On 10/28/2009 at 2:13am by ti3n_t

Don't feel too bad...I too work a haunted house, and I have been punched in the face...Only my haunted house is in a theme park...so they get arrested and hauled off....

#81 Not only are the actors forbidden to touch the guests, guests are forbidden to touch the actors.....

#92 - On 10/28/2009 at 2:34am by Amb3rDucki3

haha. genius!
