Don't you need the key to lock it? If not, shouldn't you at least have a spare?
At least now you can use it like those old fashioned piggy banks. Smash it! But in your case, you may need to use a diamond saw.
i think you left your brain in there too. or check the kitchen.
hey, no one and i mean no one is gonna steal anything out of your safe now!
uhh use the keypad or master lock? go get the spare?
wtf, i didnt even know safes these days HAD keys
Did anyone consider by "key" he meant maybe a paper with the directions/combination? Other than that I'm calling shenanigans on this one.
yeah i was expecting him to say something like "and today when i came home, i found out that somebody stole my safe" not "and i locked the key in there"
im calling fake
this is why you save things. duh.
Some safes lock on closure.

How can you even lock a safe that uses a key without using the key itself to lock it. Think about it.
Run it over with your car.
I can imagine myself doing that :/ wow that really sucks
break it open
duuuuh foo

I'm pretty sure they are designed so you can't just easily break it open with common tools. If so then fail safe...
How the heck did you lock it without a key? Any way I'm imagining would've been easy to break into, so the design wouldn't work. :S
Either way, take into someplace to get it open. I'd bring proof that it's yours and the stuff inside were yours.
Yeah, this. Shouldn't be too hard, especially if you have proof of purchase for the safe too.
YOU DESERVED IT USEING PAPERS BECAUSE IF YOU USE PAPERS THATS KILLING TREES!!!
#7: ultimate troll win. (most stupid thing i've heard all day)
nuff said.
to the op, just go hire some professional to open you're case.
i mean, obviously since you have a computer, and you're on fml.com, you should be proficient in the art of google.com
=D
Now all that stuff is safe from the force of nature most likely to cause its untimely loss -- you.
How'd you lock it if the key was in there?
just take it to someone who can open it. research online. use google and look up how to open it or something. but still fyl.
your simply retarded.
like #1, your probably going to need a diamond saw to open it up. which really are not cheap.
lol ur dumb
hahaha!!!! nice dude

Sounds like a blonde joke.

Assuming it's a personal safe, just drop it on it's back corner. Door should pop open.
Ok, first of all...
How'd you lock it with the key inside?
And why don't you have a spare?
YDI.
I know I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what stupid thing you do next.
Now's the time to hire an international bank robber with all those fancy gadgets to pick locks, evade lasers, and steal diamonds, and have him bust open your store-bought safe.
Before you start using a new type item, play around with it a little to get a feel as to how it works. Then you'll be able to use it much more effectively. You'll get an implicit understanding of it, and you'll be much less likely to do stupid stuff like locking its own keys inside it.
shit! better try to open that shit with a heat laser or something??
uhhh, how can you lock it with the keys inside?

I lost the key to my safe once. I Googled the safe brand and looked on youtube and broke it open relatively easily. If you don't know how to do it, youtube it!
#36 - On 10/16/2009 at 10:55pm by Taconeil
you, my friend, are a mother fucking dumbass
People should have to score above a certain number on an IQ test before purchasing a safe.
good, now your key will be kept safe. i don't see the problem here.
Isn't there normally a spare key? Usually there is. Guess you're going to have to call the locksmith. =/
that`s what you get for being dumb.
it could be worse ... wait no it couldn't
Lock picking is pretty easy. If you suspect it would be hard to pick then you may wish to take it to a licensed locksmith -- no doubt they can crack it open for you easily enough. If you feel adventurous, have a look around the internet -- no doubt you'll be able to find instructions on picking a lock!
Also (on a tangential note), lock picking is enjoyable -- for some odd reason it's something that relaxes me, leaning back and fiddling with a padlock and some picks.

TEEHEE
hug a poptart []
spare key? if not- fyl =S
Now it's completely safe! :D
Classic or a we got liar on our hands
Surely there is a way in. Call the manufacturer.
Sounds like someone should invest in a blowtorch...
Dumbass of the year award.

how do you lock it after you placed your key in it?
some of them lock right when you close them
Ah, I see you're thinking one step ahead of most people. After all, do you really trust yourself not to steal your stuff?
Hey, you just gave me a GREAT idea! I'm going to start building safes without keys! Once you close them, they'll never open again! No safe can be more secure than the one that it's owner can't get into!
wait... so you just decided "I think I'm going to toss my key in there and then lock it up"? sounds to me like deep inside, you don't even trust yourself. Good luck trying to open it up.

#64 - On 10/17/2009 at 3:02am by Bassplyer
so uhh... cant even trust yourself? or is it an extra security measure for you stuff?
Op's a woman - I'm just putting that out there, not making any implications myself.
You didn't test it out first to see if works the way it's supposed to before cramming everything in there? How did the key get in the safe in the first place? Was it taped to the door or something?
Safe Keyping.....I know lame pun but I couldn't resist!
what sort of rat shit safe uses a key?
This is bullshit. All "safes" are intentionally designed to be locked FROM THE OUTSIDE.
If this is real, contact the company with all the information (serial number, make and model, proof it's yours, etc.) and get a new key.
But the unlikelihood of it requiring a key makes me you can accidentally lock in there makes me think this if fake.
Hey. Look at the bright side...
At least your safe...and everything in it... will be safe. :]
And for everyone out there... It is possible to lock the key in. I for one have done it... I was at a hotel. And I unlocked it and looked around. Put a note in there for my mom...and a note on the closet door telling her to look in the safe... Happens that I placed the key in there because there was no where else to put it. Locked it in, along with my note... I wonder if anyone has read it yet? XD
It is just like locking your keys in the car.
so it wouldnt be locked dumbass. you need a key to lock shit.
at least it's all safe in there!!!! :-)
Wow, you a dumbass. Just take the safe back to were you bought it, with the reciept or other proof of puchase, and they will open it for you. YDI
You need the key to lock it.
Ok, too all the people saying "you need the key to lock it", not necessarily. With some safes, as soon as you close the door, it relocks itself
you... you can't be serious... o.o
#82 - On 10/17/2009 at 1:38pm by BaoZorzz
Some people on this website need to hit up the ganjeez... U need to lay off
Hahah. More like fail much?
Moron.
You are so smrt! S-M-R-T!
nope. #1 safe always come with two keys. second the keys lock the bolt open or closed you cant lock the safe shut without the key outside. you bloody little liar.
and to the person who say you dont need a key because the safe locks itself yeah it does but has a key pad. dumbass.
oh, god, yes! you are top fail! oh thanks for making my day!!
That's a pretty big safe. I do not think this is real.
so break the fucker open!
#93 - On 10/18/2009 at 9:57pm by giggitygoo610
congrats ur completely retarded
I am pretty sure the manufacturer has someway to open it easily.
Something similar happened to me in a hotel.
The bell captain then opened the safe with a pocket knife and hairpins.
Don't all safes which require a key to unlock, also require the key to lock? Because the only way I can think of you doing that is by forcing the key into an opening which shouldn't exist in the first place.
Wait - don't tell me... Blonde?
... How did you lock it if the key was inside...? Or do you not need the key to lock it? If this question has already been answered, be nice, I haven't read the other comments. :)

My safe has both a key lock, with two keys, and a combination lock, the safe locks automatically when I close the door and lift the handle. It also has a key lock that if pushed in, without the key being in it, will lock the safe again. When that button is pushed in I need the key to release it or I can't get the safe open even if I put the combination in. There are also bigger safes that when you close the door they have handles that spin and lock the bars into place. These do not require keys to close but do require keys to open. Now, I am pretty sure that all safes come with a manual that has a customer service number on it that you can call if that exact thing happens and they will send you a new key with verification of the product serial number and model number but you will have to pay for it. I know they will send someone to my house free of charge to open my safe because it has a warranty. So yes you can lock a key in a safe and yes it is very easy to get it open again.
It's the 21st centary get a keypad, combo lock or other password lock system (btw your life no longer has value couse u have no valuibles :) you should have took a hacking class)
