Today, I went on a plane and was sitting next to a mom with her 12-year old daughter. Apparently, they decided to have "the talk." On the plane, right next to me. I heard everything, and actually learned new things. I'm 35. FML

12 years old is pretty damn late to get sexual education. Most girls have hit puberty by then, and I hope all girl know what menstruation is before they get heir first period.
Also by the time they are 12 they've already heard a lot of things about sex in the schoolyard before they learner it properly from their parents, and THAT is where all the (dangerous) misunderstandings about sex come from.
