Today, I asked a woman where her beautiful accent was from. The woman stared at me for a while. Then her daughter told me that the reason her mother talked like that was because she had a stroke a few months ago. FML

at least you didn't make fun of it. if anything, i hope she would feel better since you called her speech beautiful. i mean i know it's still awful, but it's a little better

That does suck, but the way this is worded implies that the woman is a stranger. How were you to know she had a stroke?

I don't think it's an FML or a YDI. Just kind of embarrassing.
