Today, I was in my Honors English class. I sneezed very loudly while my teacher was giving a lecture. I had the genius idea to say, "Sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit." FML
I agree, your life sucks 26 222
You deserved it 55 456

Catuser tells us more.

This is the follow up: My teacher did laugh it off but sternly told me to never do it again or I will be suspended from her class. Thanks for publishing my first FML!

Its a serious allergy. Your teacher should be more considerate.

I must say OP, This has got to be a YDI fml.

Can you thumb my comment down, I love it!

Someone please tell me why it was necessary for OP to include "Honors" English? Are we supposed to feel sorry because they're special or something?

No clue but honors is actually harder than regular it doesn't mean he's retarded

XIceBlueX 21

Where I went, it wasn't much harder. We just had to write more papers and weren't given a word bank on tests. Granted I went to a "dumb" school.

Good thing it was only an idea. You didnt say it out loud, did you?

#62 1. You're breaking the rules: no offensive behavior/speech is allowed here. 2. Who are you? The grammar police? It's just a comma, no need to insult people, so give it a rest.

@#65 - Perhaps it was for the sake of the teacher themselves. A Honors English teacher being of a higher caliber and such. Usually honors classes are made out to be pretty serious as well. Something along those lines.

Did anyone notice that what OP just said came straight from the movie "I, Robot?" Shortly after the scene where Will Smith listens to the USR chairman's speech...

I must say OP, This has got to be a YDI fml.

636 inexplicable FYL votes and counting.

It's not inexplicable, it's just a very awesome line, used impulsively in a bad time. YDI, but also FYL. But it gave me a good laugh, so I vote FYL.

being funny doesn't make him deserve any less. it was still pretty rude, I think.

How the **** does this get past moderation??

Definitely. What was the "bullshit"?

Well after doing English for 12 years I agree that doing it for so long and doing the same thing is, indeed, bull shit

"I can't stand your bullshit." Might be the response OP's teacher said under his breath.

My response would have been 'then you must be allergic to yourself'.

TacoTruckOwner 6

What was the teachers response? We need a follow up.

"Then you must be allergic to your test answers."

Scynistr 20

He should reply "then I don't know how you can live with yourself."

Next time you should think a little bit more before you say something like that.

When I was in high school, my teacher assigned an in-class reading of the most ridiculously stupid short story to ever be written. When she excitedly asked how we liked it, I responded "it was a waste of my life." She never forgave me for that.

That's the point though. If they would have thought about it then they wouldn't have said it.

I'm allergic to that as well! I'm also allergic to teachers, school, and anything to do with the education system. I definitely understand your pain!

I love how you said that as if teachers and schools aren't part of the education system.

Let me know how mcdonalds treats you #7.

Be grateful you have access to education...believe it or not, not everyone on this planet has that privilege.

b00kn3rd 14

As it has been suggested: enjoy your minimum wage job. Ungrateful cretins, such as yourself, definitely don't deserve the gift you are given on a daily basis. Your parents are able to go to work without paying exorbitant childcare fees, you get social interactions, something to keep you from being bored all day, and a basic education that allows you to survive and/or thrive in the world today. Do us all a favor. Shut up and be grateful or go home. *drops mic* Ok, I'm done....

cryssycakesx3 22

wasn't that Muslim girl shot in the head for going to school?

b00kn3rd 14

I dropped it after I stopped talking. :-) You didn't miss anything. I was taking a stab at myself for my preaching moment. Kids these days though... Her name is Malala.

Rainhawk94 27

#42 she got shot for standing for womens rights in education

Goblin182 26

#7, you are going to get some education, life is funny that way. But I am afraid the education you are going to get will be painful and expensive in so many ways.

crazytwinsmom 25

It was a bad idea regardless.

Yeah because the words "excuse-me" definitely don't come to mind when sneezing. You're allergic to bullshit? Then you should have sneezed again after hearing your own remark. -_-"

HowAreYouToday 34

tbh its a clever enough reply. why are you such a hater?

It doesn't sound like the teacher was doing anything other than his/her job. You don't need to insult people who don't deserve it. Especially in front of others (in their own classroom). It was a clever reply but you should think before you speak, it didn't need to be said.

Most teachers have pretty thick skins. I could write a book about all of the rude things kids have said to me and this is on the tame side-- and not very original either (sorry OP-- but I'm willing to bet your teacher has heard that before!). I have a pretty good sense of humor (and justice) and when this has happened before in my classroom, I would make the student give an impromptu speech about why the topic is bullshit. I've actually had several good classroom debates about the purpose of the material being taught. I've also had several students who learned valuable lessons about keeping their thoughts to themselves :)

No offense but I'm glad I've never been one of your students

RedPillSucks 31

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, that was a genius response. On the other hand, that was terribly disrespectful. I favorited this AND YDI AND FYL.

conman531 23

That's funny-- I was thinking it was YDI just because of how unoriginal it is-- but I've also been teaching high school for 15 years and there's little I haven't heard before.

Yeah I've seen it at least 50 times in various parts of the internet over the years.
