Divorce skrews kids up. They do badly in school and do things to make their parents upset, to get back at them for disrupting the house hold. Children need stability. Bouncing back from mom to dad, every day, week, month, year fucks kids up. They get a sense of not being wanted, and they always feel like it is there fault. It is a traumatic experince that causes trust issues in the future.

Just thought I'd tell you, my parents divorced and I graduated at the top of my class, I'm halfway through university on my way to becoming a doctor (family practitioner actually) and I've never gotten in a big fight with either one of my parents. So...don't try and sound all high and mighty, because you just aren't correct.

B) There is little research to prove your point. Many children of divorce become well-adjusted adults though it may be traumatic for the kids in the beginning, but they adjust. What would be traumatic for kids is having parents constantly fighting, or remaining in emotionally, verbally, or physically abusive relationships. THAT "skrews" kids up.

hey #102 I am a child of a divorced family and have always done great in school. i had over a 3.0 this year and am on the leadership board for my school. And I do feel loved. I think that if the two parents are not happy together than a divorce can be a good thing.

Maybe send the pics to her parents. So that way when you divorce, her whole family will know why.

If a parents cheated or there are good reasons to get a divorce then most of the time it is best for the kid for the parents to part! my parents stayed together for 15 years unhappily "for the kids" and it did more damage then good. By the time i was ten i knew that my father was a cheating lying a**hole!!! And that my mother was weak for putting up with him! Years later I love my mother but have no contact with my father because of all that and had they not stayed together maybe life wouldn't have been so bad and i would still love both of my parents!

Oh and as for the comment about the kids doing bad because of it. Most all kids act up, they will find a reason but with loving parents, together or not, can get their kids threw it.

My parents are still together(and have been for 26 years) but my boyfriend's family is a wreck... his parents never were married and don't even like each other, but they still all live in the same house. Basically his mom is very mentally unstable and his dad is so stressed sometimes he just loses his temper. So yeah, I'm gonna say sometimes kids are better off with only one parent.

I dont even think Recova is necessary. Aren't SD cards notoriously easy to undelete? Nothing on an SD card is gone for good until it's saved over.

Why wouldn't he run an undelete? It's HIS OWN camera. If he was suspicious, then he would check for evidence. And even if he wasn't, even if he assumed it was photos of his wife and child (maybe his wife had deleted them because she thought she didn't look good in them?), why shouldn't he get to see them?

Even with a 2 gb SD card, I still delete pictures after I take them if they don't turn out well, but there are hardly every very many in succession.... if there weren't very many photos overall, but 80 were missing, I'd be kind of curious, too.... although it'd probably have a lot more to do with just how crappy of a picture taker my husband was that he needed to delete so many, or perhaps to find something embarassing that another person may have taken.... it would be a shock to find out that he'd been cheating on me that way.

Also, I sometimes undelete things from an SD card because I didn't want to delete them initially.... perhaps the husband thought it was a mistake that so many were deleted.

My parents are divorced and I'm not fucked up. In fact, I have never met anyone with divorced parents who are messed up. I actually knew a girl whose parents stayed together just for her, and later on, when her mom found out her husband had been cheating on her, the entire family was torn apart. DNA tests for his son would be entirely meaningless. Once you sign your name to a document agreeing that child is yours (like the Birth Certificate) neither heaven nor hell will change that. He will be responsible for that child REGARDLESS of the child's paternity simply because he agreed he was.

If you're ever in doubt (this is for everybody) about the paternity of a child, get a DNA test BEFORE you sign the birth certificate.

I think ALL cameras have a trash folder? I've been able to recover deleted files, no problem. I've run Rescue PRO on the memory cards from several cameras I've owned.

It is not physically impossible. When a file is deleted, it is only marked as "deleted"* so it doesn't show up when you look in the directory. The file content is not actually erased**, and you can use file un-deletion software to find these files and unmark them as "deleted" so they can be viewed again.

* Note 1: The FAT32 file system most commonly used on flash memory simply replaces the first character of the filename with a special character (0xE5) that indicates that the file is deleted. This is why the classic "UNDELETE" command in MS-DOS would ask the user what the original first character of the filename was when it found a deleted file.
** Note 2: The storage space on the disk or card that was occupied by a deleted file might be overwritten eventually by new files, but that obviously wasn't the case in this FML.

Actually, yes it does.

As has been pointed out already, the file content isn't actually erased when the file is deleted, so the file content can be recovered as long as it hasn't been overwritten with a new file. I've personally undeleted a few dozen pictures from an SD card using the free "photorec" program (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec). A few of them were garbled because they had been partially overwritten, though.
