Today, I was babysitting a really annoying kid who wouldn't listen to me, and threw his food through the kitchen, so I punished him. When his mother came home he ran to her and said, "Mommy, mommy, it's not true what you told me, fat people are NOT nice!" FML

Not necessarily his/her fault for being fat, but for being fat and then bitching about it when people call you what you are. Why do people think it's so inappropriate to acknowledge that somebody is overweight? It's usually there personal choice of unhealthy diet and lack of exercise.

yeah, not to stereotype, but i was driving along the east coast. when we went north, the people started getting skinnier and the portions started getting smaller. when we drove south, the people started getting larger and the portions nearly doubled in size. i mean, that's why you never see a cracker barrel in new jersey or new york.

The CDC begs to differ:
"Percent of noninstitutionalized adults age 20 years and over who are overweight or obese: 67% (2005-2006)" - http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/overwt.htm
It's not everybody, true, but it is a lot of fatties.
That percentage also includes athletes and other people who are outside of their suggested weight range due to large amounts of muscle. Even the CDC admits that the percentages aren't accurate because BMI does not directly correlate with body fat percentages.
There is a still a high percentage, but not quite 2/3 of the country.

This is aimed at everyone dissing fat people:
1. Overweight people are nice until people tick them off by commenting on their wait. So shut your little pie holes with the generalization.
2. This is an FYL. Perhaps they have a thyroid problem? They can't control that.
3. Like #80 is implying, little kids generalize. Racism, weight, etc. How is that a YDI?
4. I happen to know overweight people that get P.O.d by the term "fat". So could you at least TRY to not tick them off?
5. I would like to conclude that this is not funny (cough#79cough) and again, that perhaps the OP has a thyroid problem. Don't assume. It gets you nowhere.
