As for the FML, there are a lot if things that we should know before truly judging the OP. Perdix and I made some(perhaps faulty) assumptions, and you and your friends made some assumptions. Everyone needs to fill in some of the details for themselves, for it is impossible for the OP to include her life story in one FML. From the way the FML was written, it seemed to me as though the OP is not presently living with her parents in what would not be considered a positive situation. I judged accordingly. Whether I'm right or wrong, we won't know unless the OP comes on here herself. Either way, I expressed my opinion and there's no need for anyone to come after me about doing so. Please lighten up!

She could take her life very seriously, & she probably is, considering she's trying to think of a way to explain to her parents that they have a grandchild on the way, and when my mother had me, she was 17, on drugs and drink. However, she stopped doing it, because she realised, that she had a child, and she needed to look after her, and in order to do that, she had to ditch the drink, and the friends who were trying to get her to take another joint.

In some cases, having a baby is the one thing that DOES make you mature beyond your years.

Before I got on birth control, there was one time when my boyfriend and I realized the condom broke. The hole was huge so we knew it broke and I got plan B, but if a condom broke and the hole was small, a girl could easily get pregnant. This is why all the pro-lifers annoy me- they act like everyone who has an unwanted pregnancy totally deserves it because it is 100% their fault. Now I use the nuvaring because I know I would forget to take a pill everyday.

Assuming you're from America and talking about your own country and not actually talking about the OPs situation(you seem pretty self absorbed), asides from some pretty specific laws that dictate abortion will always be legal, there's also the fact of practicality. Even in third world countries where abortion has never been legal and therefor very few doctors have actual training in the procedure, back street abortionists are very common. In a country like America where almost all doctors will have the knowledge to perform an abortion if it were to become illegal the only thing you accomplish is removing the controls currently in place. You would simply make abortions more dangerous, and more likely to occur in the second or third trimester.

There's also the fact that if you want to call abortion murder, you have to call it murder in cases where it's performed to save the mothers life or after rape or incest. No country in the world that has legalized abortion is going to regress to forcing women to carry children resulting from rape or incest.

If I was defending myself, I would have been saying something along the lines of "I have excellent grammar". Perhaps "defending" is another word you don't understand? boygenius, I didn't at any point claim to be excellent at grammar. Do you have reading comprehension issues? I only pointed out that it was silly to call people illiterate if your grammar is awful. If you don't care about literacy on a text based medium don't say things like "I'm very picky about my own grammar" or "people who disagree with me are illiterate" and you'll be less likely to have your idiocy pointed out. Perdix's post is almost identical to the rants made by the majority of other posters here and not extreme to the point to be obvious as sarcasm as you are assuming it is. I will always defend the situation against someone who wants to sit there and joke cruelly about an unborn child, and it's terribly confused mother, simply because it happened to my mum, when she was pregnant with my second little brother. The family was fine with it. Yet she almost died because she refused to have the baby aborted, because she just couldn't bring herself to do it.

My mum's fiancee's ex wife, thought it was funny, to sit there and bitch about my mother and my little brother, who was still unborn, and make sadistic jokes about them. It wasn't funny, and she stupidly said it infront of my future stepdad's mum. She got kicked out of the house, and was told to never come back. Comments like those, aren't funny. When you've got a baby's life hanging in there, it's not something to joke about. It never has, and it never will be.

Also, as I've said multiple times before, my use of the word illiterate was not meant to imply that those I was referring to could not read or write, I meant that they lacked the ability to read between the lines. Generally people don't state they find something fun, then go on to complain about it being a pain.
