Today, after months of trying to train my cockatiel to perch on my finger, he finally trusted me enough to fly from his cage and land on my hand. I panicked and accidentally backhanded him across the room. FML

No worries OP, accidents happen sometimes. I remember a time when my husband was trying to be romantic and wake me up with a morning kiss and I punched him in the mouth accidentally.

I never knew if I gained my conures trust or not. Sometimes he would cuddle under my neck or in my shirt and purr!! Literally. And other times I would have bite marks and scratches all over my arm. Birds are confusing.
