What a catch

Today, my boyfriend is so scared of COVID that he takes precautions beyond what health professionals recommend to satisfy his OCD. He told me he wouldn't be getting the vaccine because he "won't be controlled by the government." Not to worry, he will just continue to be the unbearable control freak he transformed into since this all began. FML

Sorry to say this so harshly but - he’s ******* stupid and you should leave him. That may sound extreme, but so is his being controlling - it will only get worse and you will probably be miserable. With the information provided, that seems like a time bomb, and it makes sense to get out now rather than later after a longer time investment in a dead end relationship.

Plot twist: The government created the anti vaccine propaganda as a means of control. Rrally though he should get it, even if the government laced it with nano bots that make you vote democrat if they have that kind of tech it's already too late.

Lol that’s an awesome argument I love it. Actually never heard that one before. Funny though next time Democrats start winning big majorities in elections, people will blame it on the nano bots in the COVID vaccines lol

You got two choices here leave now and protect yourself or stay and try to get him help but by just a little description you gave he sounds much more like a paranoid schizophrenic or schizoaffective and they usually suffer from OCD. Things will only become more severe from here if he does not receive help immediately.

Does he actually have OCD, or are you throwing around terms you don’t understand so you can complain about behavior you don’t agree with? If the former, then his treatment plan is clearly not meeting his needs and if you were a decent partner, you would have figured that out a year ago and taken some steps to help him get his symptoms under control. If you did, and he was unwilling, you can’t help him. If you didn’t, and decided to come post an FML about it instead, you’re an ableist jerk. If the latter, you’re an ableist jerk. Dump him and move on, but don’t go dragging people who actually have OCD and have legitimately been suffering for entirety of this pandemic through the mud because you’re unhappy in your relationship.
