Today, the bank called saying we were late in the mortgage payments. I was puzzled because three months ago I issued a big cheque to my mum pay off the mortgage. I just discovered that she instead lost it all at the casino. Turns out, she's become a compulsive gambler ever since dad passed away. FML

yes. f YOUR life. not your MOTHER'S life. ********.

i'm sorry, but Britfags? Is that what people call us???

That sucks about your dad and your mom being a compulsive gambler, but YDI for writing the check to your mom and not the bank.

might be time to send mom off to figure that one out on her own

OP, I'm sorry to hear that. What a horrible thing to happen. FYL and FHR.

Wow. You guys are fighting over whether its pop or soda... here's a hint: its both, idiots. And thanks all you Americans for making us look bad with your ignorance. But anyway, in the US, a lot of people say soda. In Canada, Aussie, etc, most people say POP. My parents are both Canadian, so I grew up saying 'pop'. All of my friends find it silly, but its normal to me. Its the same with 'cheque' and 'mum'. The dialect goes with the territory. The More You Know (:

I'm from Australia and lived in nearly every state. I've only ever heard people say 'soda', not 'pop'.
