Just put out a small backpack with a few changes of clothes, and a note saying "You're getting out today ************." See how long your kid thinks he knows what's what after a few nights in the real world....

i've done that before... as a teenager i can explain. i hope i speak for the most of us when i say that we need more independence! yeah..we may have done something(s) in the past to ruin your trust but either: 1. we truely do know it's a mistake and don't even plan on doing it again or 2. we will want to do it again no matter how long we get grounded for it in the case of two you just need to let us live and learn! don't try to convince us that your decision is for the better because all it does is make us feel stronger about how wrong you are and try to understand our viewpoints parents who act like they were never our age and never did anything bad are soooo lame. ( sorry no offence if you are one of those parents ) we will always love you but please eez up on the punishments and protection because truthfully some parents care a little much hope i wasnt disrespectfull at all thanks! (:

I love how everyone is screaming "horrible parent". kids just don't understand what it's like to be a parent. All the comments on here is exactly what's wrong with kids today. Most of the comments are basically saying "stop punishing your children". That's why there are so many young people today making stupid mistakes, because parents don't punish their kids any more. It's. funny, I have read fmls about a child doing something stupid and the comments are filled with people yelling "horrible parent". I hate people some times. Kids need to learn, and they need a force to guide them. That would be they parents. If said kid does something stupid the parent punished the kid, kid learns his/her lesson and (hopefully) does not repeat said behavior. Ok I am done now, I really shouldn't comment (especially on an old fml) when I have been awake for over 24 hours. /rant P.S someone please find something in my comment to pick on, I mean it please? And while your at it please bury my comment, I have never had one buried before, I'll even start you out by thumbing my own comment down ok?
