Today, my idiot neighbor decided the best way to dispose of the poison ivy in his yard was to pile it all up and burn it. I'm severely allergic. It was so bad that one of my eyes is still swollen half shut. FML

Today, I woke up with a rash all across my body. Last night, my boyfriend and I got it on in some bushes, and it seems one of those was poison ivy. FML

Today, my younger brother sat on some poison ivy. He didn't have any symptoms because he's pretty much immune to it. Also today, my boyfriend had to run to the ER because he got poison ivy on his genitalia. I knew they spent way too much time together. FML

Today, I found out that I am allergic to one of the preservatives that they put in aloe. I found this out after I put some on a severe sunburn I have. Not only am I sunburned, but now I am severely itchy as well. FML

Today, I found out I'm allergic to bug repellent. So instead of having a couple of itchy bug bites, my skin feels like it's on fire and is violently itchy everywhere the repellent has touched. FML

Poison Ivy is really bad. My mom got blood poisoning from it, so I know what you mean. Don't know how, but I am actually immune to it. Walked right through it for over 15 years while picking blackberries without knowing and never got so much as a rash. Hope you recover soon!

That is literally the worst thing to do with poison ivy. You can actually get poison ivy on the inside of your lungs from breathing in the smoke.

Like #57 said, burning poison ivy, poison oak, and sumac trees is the worst thing you can do. Poison ivy in particular can still remain allergenic up to 5 years after the death of the plant. It sucks to hear your situation, I hope that your neighbor lives somewhere far away from the city so that the smoke can dissipate.
