Today, I went to McDonald's. I was unaware of the Monopoly contest that they were holding. I was also unaware that you have to get 3 stickers of the same colour to claim your prize, and that it's not that easy to win a Jeep Cherokee. Taking down my Facebook post was awkward. FML

OP got the stickers for the prize, but didn't realize that isn't in automatic win. You have to compete against other people that got the stickers, I'm pretty sure. So OP thought they won until they realized that they hadn't technically won. At least that's how I think the monopoly works.

You just need to collect all the stickers for the set. So you need all 4 airports (railways) and you win a trip, all 3 green properties to win a jeep, both blue pieces to win 10K, and so on. No competing against people.

Back in the 90's I was looking at the winner's list (for the preceding year) and told the local Macdonalds manager that the game was rigged. He did not believe me, I pointed out that it was statistically impossible for all the winners to be on the east coast. about four years later Macdonalds issued a press release citing the CSO had rigged the game for his friends. All on the east coast. I could not get anyone to believe me at the time.
