Today, I went to get the vaccination my college requires of all students. The nurse looked at my charts and told me there was good and bad news. The good news was that I didn't need the shot. The bad news was I needed four others. Now, both of my arms are swollen enough to make Popeye proud. FML

The hell? Shots don't cause swelling unless there's something wrong with them, or you're allergic to them. I would really go get checked for a reaction if I were you.

One of the most common reactions after vaccination is localised swelling, actually. It isn't harmful and generally doesn't indicate anything serious; it usually goes away over the course of a few hours.

I rescued a bat from my swimming pool when I was a kid, and the resulting rabies shots, done four per session, never made my arms swell up. I'm assuming your arms are bigger than an 11-year-old girl's, so that's not normal.

Localised swelling is a very common reaction, actually, and usually goes down after a few hours.
