Today, I went to my first ever party as a freshman, with friends from my dorm. There was a dance floor, and despite never having danced in public before, I put my best efforts into my dance moves… only to end up dislocating my knee. It's safe to say I won't be winning any dance contests anytime soon. FML

Today, it was my first time at the club. I saw a really cute girl. I finally worked up the courage to ask her to dance. Before I even got within five feet of her, she looked me in the eyes and vehemently shook her head. I did a 180. My friends saw everything. They are still laughing. FML

Today, although I can't dance, I decided to go to a club. A really cute girl asked me to dance, and I politely declined. She kept insisting, so I finally said okay. A few minutes in, she stopped, looked at me, and said, "If you're going to make fun of my dancing, I'm leaving." FML

Theres no wrong way to dance. People always stare and laugh at me too. Though that might just be due to me not wearing any clothes when i do it...

"Saturday Night Fever" is really the one that associated John Travolta with dancing. "Staying Alive" was an ill-conceived sequel that was a horrible movie. Unless you are the type that enjoys a nice train-wreck like "Ishtar" for ***** and giggles, you can safely skip "Staying Alive." To a certain extent, Travolta sparked a fad in country/western dancing with his role in "Urban Cowboy." For those of us who have followed his career since "Welcome Back, Kotter," John Travolta's dancing in "Pulp Fiction" was kind of an afterthought and a nod to his previous work. The movie was more important as his comeback as an actor. (Anybody still awake?)
