Today, I went to a bar with some friends when my wife texted me asking where I was. Not wanting her to know I was at a bar, I told her I was still at work. She was sitting in the booth behind me. FML

Today, my wife's parents came over, insisting they saw me at the bar at 1:30 p.m., talked to me, and that I left with another woman. I was at work all day. I have no idea what they are talking about, I've never done this. My wife doesn't believe me. FML

Now she's going to wonder why you would lie to her unless there's a sinister reason behind it... And any explanation you give now will just be classed as a lie... you've probably also just ruined your future chances of going to the pub with friends without your wife questioning why... Very bad move! That's how it starts, 1 stupid unnecessary lie...

All you've done is show your wife she can't trust you. If you were harmessly hanging out with friends, there is no reason to have lied to your wife. OP< you need to reevaluate your relationship if you don't respect her enough to tell her the truth and/or wanna lie about why you are not home spendign time with her.

Dumb. Either you're not trustworthy, which is why you felt the need to lie, or you're in an overly controlling relationship with a paranoid woman which leads you to lie about innocent things. Either way, you're staying in an unhealthy relationship. YDI.
