Today, I went back to my high school for an event with some of my friends, both of which are in relationships. Whilst there we saw our favorite teacher, who hugged us and said, "I heard you have a boyfriend! And so do you!" And then she turned to me and said, "And... And you're doing great things!" FML

Today, at a supermarket, I ran into a girl I knew in high school. She had two kids with her and they were buying school supplies. My cart was full of beer and snacks. After a chat, she left, not before saying, "I hope things get better for you." I have a job and a girlfriend. FML

Today, while walking through the halls of my high school, my boyfriend and I shared a quick kiss. A young teacher walked by and told us to stop due to Personal Display of Affection rules at our school. She then looked at my boyfriend and told him he could do so much better. FML

Today, I went to my former high school's homecoming game. A classmate who I always had a crush on looks up and goes "Brian!", holding her arms out for a hug. I hug her and she seems a bit suprised but hugs back anyway. I get up and see another Brian from our class behind me. Shame. FML

Today, I went to my little cousin's school to pick her up and it happened to be my old elementary school. I saw my old teacher and went up to say hi, and after a few minutes she goes "Aren't you the girl who's dad always came in drunk on parent's day?" Nice to know that's how I'm remembered. FML

I hate how so many people seem to think that having a relationship is the most important thing. Yes, it is nice to have a romantic partner. But just because someone doesn't have one doesn't make them some kind of loser!

One teacher from my high school is friends with a bunch of former students on Facebook. It's really weird. He needs to stop.

I don't really see it as a bad thing to be friends with former students, teachers can really be a strong presence in some students lives. If the teacher is caring and takes time to help their students, isn't it natural to want to stay in contact? Kids need an adult that cares and helps push them, not everyone has that in their home life. Plus, sometimes teachers can be really cool.
