The real problem here is that nobody knows where you were walk back from.
Beggars are scammars. Try carrying monopoly money, it normally confuses the hell out of 'em.
There is a reason why they have loitering laws... Don't be stupid. Most people who beg make more money doing that than actually working. And it goes straight in their vein. If you want to be a Good Samaritan make "go packs"- pair of socks, travel sized toiletries, some wet wipes, a bottle of water, a granola bar, and an apple. If they are really destitute, they will appreciAte it.
That's exactly why I never give homeless people money. I buy them food and that's it. There was a "homeless" guy asking for money for hip surgery in front of Target who barely spoke English. I bought him some McDonald's and he got really mad at me so I just smiled and left. I'm sorry but beggars can't be choosers.
All I can say is never trust beggars
