Today, I was telling my friends a story. I added a few "embellishments" to make it more intense. One my friends piped up with, "I was with you, half of what you just said wasn't true". It's now all over Facebook and I'm known as "The Bullshitter". FML

Today, a coworker told me something I didn't realize was confidential, until later when my boss called me, saying someone may have shared something confidential with me, and me, not thinking so, said I don't think anyone did. We hung up, they called back and elaborated, and it dawned on me now they think I'm a liar. FML

Today, at a party I bumped into a friend of my ex. We caught the same bus home. He started telling me about my ex's "totally insane" ex-girlfriend. He refused to believe me when I told him he was talking about me. I had to sit there for half an hour as my personality was ripped to shreds. FML

I had a friend that used to bullshit constantly. She would say things happened when I was there and they did not happen. One time I was telling her about something someone had just said to me on my way to meet her, and she started saying I was bullshitting and that she was there and something else happened, which was not the case. I stopped talking to her after that.

I think we used to have the same friend.. lol but really the person I knew alwaaaaays lied and exaggerated things but she'd be the first to publicly call you if one slight detail was off with something you said.. even if she was wrong and you were telling the truth she'd make a scene about it.

exaggerate sounds a while lot better than "embellish" which implies you added the aspects which did not exist at all vs grandizing aspects that were true. everyone exaggerates things even accidentally but sorry intentionally changing a story to sound cool is lying.. I've had friends who did this all the time to impress people, and it was very hard not to want to shut them up . It is also equally frustrating seeing people believe things about others that you know is a complete lie... kinda makes you wanna scream
