Today, I took my girlfriend out for a romantic dinner, since we can't see each other this Valentine's Day. Halfway through, my aunt called, telling me my grandma had died. I had to leave because I was crying so much, leaving my girlfriend with a very pricey bill. FML

Seeing close to 200 people putting ydi... Y'all some heartless people. Sorry about your loss. Only time will heal a loss but hopefully your girl will understand.

they're always trolls out there who are going to say YDI

Sorry for your loss... but don't feel like that, I'm sure she'll understand

Well then you better put out. But in all seriousness I'm sorry for your loss

I just don't understand why she didn't leave with you. Sorry for your loss OP

Why didn't you leave her money to pay for the meal if you needed to leave?

Probably didn't think about it until later. Intense emotions will do that.

I would imagine he was rushing to comfort his relatives, and seek comfort himself. Money isn't really on his mind at a time like tbjd

Sorry for your loss OP. Im sure she understands. you can always pay her back or make it up to her!

So long as she isn't self-centered and doesn't have entitlement issues I'm sure sure she will understand. I'm sorry for your loss too OP.

Truth to be told, I don't understand why you left. If I'd be told such devastating news, my boyfriend would be the first one I'd turn to and have him console me instead of leaving him alone wondering wtf happened.

Maybe his family needed him home right away. Or maybe he was so grief-stricken he had to leave. Everyone grieves differently, but for me, I don't care how much I love you or how important you are to me; if I've just found out a loved one died, I want to be alone. I can't handle being around people.

Not everyone grieves the same, I personally don't like grieving in front of people.
