I think you're confusing unconscious with not breathing. OP, war hammers did exist and were actual weapons, so technically they were realistic, just not for you. And I suppose your hammer wasn't a war hammer.

At least I see one person who knows this, if you get knocked out you suffer some brain damage usually. But you will survive. Just depends on where you where hit on the head and how hard. But op is an idiot for trying it.

I would assume op already had brain damage to start and that he incurred more with the hammer.

Head injuries that render you unconscious for more than a short while, like 30 seconds to a minute (maybe 2 at the most), usually signify serious damage. 10 minutes is almost too hard to believe. If it was enough to knock this person out that long, there is very little chance s/he would wake up fine. They need to get an MRI soon. Or stop posting fake stories online for attention.

Being knocked unconscious isn't like in the movies, if you are hit hard enough to be out for five minutes you would have a concussion serious enough to require you to go to the hospital, at ten minutes, if he survived he wouldn't be typing anything for quite a while, if ever.
