Today, I finally worked up the courage to break up with my boyfriend. His parents weren't able to pick him up for 5 hours. I ended up taking him to a movie to kill time and end on a positive note, but now he thinks we're cool and back on track. FML

Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I had only been dating him for about a month. Thinking he wouldn't take it very hard, I invited him over so I could tell him in person. Little did I know he was going to start crying on my couch and not leave for 5 hours. FML

Today, I finally got up the nerve to leave my boyfriend. We have no spark and quite honestly, it's been really awkward. I planned to tell him when he came in, and I did. After all was said and done, he handed me the roses and new puppy he had bought for me, a puppy that I had been saving up to get. FML

What is wrong with some of you people? Half of you women sound like utter gold diggers. I'm so glad I married a woman that's not an asshole! Wow, half of the suggestions in here are absolutely ridiculous. Break up with the guy, refuse the tickets and don't be an asshole. Don't break up with him AND waste his money on your ass. Be a decent person and buy your own damn tickets. Don't string him along because you're too cheap to buy your own tickets. If you want to see your supposedly favorite band then do so on your own dime. If you don't want to do that, then clearly the band doesn't mean that much to you after all and you're not much of a fan anyway. I guarantee this is some stupid teenager and the band is some lame ass boyband. Stop trying to be all grown up and actually be one ... do the decent thing and break up with him and DON'T **** him over by wasting his money in the process!

I love how all you guys assume the boyfriend bought the tickets out of pure generosity of spirit. I highly doubt that is the case. Unless OP comes back and explains, quit painting this guy as a victim. Most likely he knew about OP's plans and was trying to stave them off.

I'm making an assumption here, but it's probably that she doesn't want to break the guy's heart after he did something sweet for her. Just because you need to get out of a relationship it doesn't mean you don't care about them.
