Today, I got stopped by people asking for donations for their charity services. Being who I am, I hate saying no to people, so I told them "I don't have any money, only my card." Did you know they also accept payment by card? FML

you shouldnt be ashamed of saying no, no one is forcing you to pay them.

It's your money, don't be ashamed if you don't want to donate it.

I hate checkout donations. They're annoying. I always say no, but some people act like I'm the devil. Maybe the OP just doesn't want to deal with that. kind of spineless, but it's annoying.

Time for you to read and internalize "When I Say No, I Feel Guilty". Sounds like it'll change your life, OP

I feel for you OP, I can't say no because I'm afraid of letting people down, once when I was seven, my mother asked me to take out the trash and I said no and a week later she left me and my dad so I used to think she left because I said no to taking out the trash, I always have a compartment in my purse just for spare change to give to homeless/charities

just think at least your money went to a good cause . good karma for you :)

A friendly "no thank you" would have sufficed.

Are you informing us that they take cards for donations or telling us that you actually used your card to give them a donation?

You don't always have to give back financially, vaulenteering can be just as helpful.
