Today, I went to see three houses to buy. For the past year I've been trying, but investors swoop in and buy the house cash to turn around and rent it. I just want my first actual home for my family, but one of the houses I was going to put an offer on already has a cash offer on it. FML

Why don't you rent until the housing bubble bursts and buy after the investors have gone broke? You can't compete with cash and that only happens in a seller's market.

I'm in the same boat...ive had my family of 6 in a hotel room for 3 months already...they take all these houses without even looking at them with cash

I feel your pain, same boat eventually got something but it's a fixer upper. My friend bought some water front property and is building on it. You can still get a good deal but you'll have to do things investors with cash won't. -I wouldn't wait for the market to crash, I think this is our new bottom. Last crash was in 2008 and really that was only cause banks and subprime mortgage shenanigans.
