When I hear stories like this, I often find myself wondering how people let themselves feel so sick before trying to find a bathroom that they will inevitably won't reach?

I would normally agree, but in this case it sounds like she was so drunk she wasn't even aware of what was happening or her surroundings let alone conscious enough to be embarrassed.
