Once bitten…

Today, after worrying for years about grinding my teeth after various dentists mentioned seeing evidence. Apparently, this worry manifested as subconsciously putting my tongue in the way at night, to the point where I have an open bite at 39 when I never had a problem before. I can't bite through sushi or sandwiches. FML

Good or bad?

Today, after reading an FML about a user whose sensitive teeth have a "good" and "bad" side for chewing, I noticed that I've apparently developed a "good" and "bad" chewing side as well. I'd never noticed it until that moment, and now it's almost debilitating. FML

Today, while enjoying breakfast, my teeth took a chunk out of my cheek. This happens regularly, even when I'm talking. Both my doctor and dentist have no idea why, and I'm in utter agony. FML

Today, it's been a week since I realized how much work the tongue actually does during eating. It pushes food around the mouth to my teeth like a little slug. I've been so conscious of it, I haven't enjoyed eating since. FML

Today, after a childhood of battling bad teeth and cavities, I'm an overzealous brusher. I found out that I have cavities in all quadrants of my mouth from over-brushing, which will need multiple appointments to fill. FML

Today, I had a dentist appointment in which a nurse numbed my mouth. After coming home, I took a nap in which I unknowing bit through my top lip. I physically can't speak. FML

Today, I learned that one of the reasons I may be getting migraines every day is because I subconsciously clench my jaw a lot due to stress. To try and have it hurt less, I’ve gone back to wearing my plastic retainer during the day, but it makes my gag reflux act up. FML

Today, after having toothaches for about two years, which persisted even after I had the crack in my tooth repaired, I went to a different dentist and it turns out that the actual culprit is a hole in the neighboring tooth, which has had years to grow, unnoticed under the edge of my gums. FML

Today, despite being 22 and having near-perfect dental hygiene, I was diagnosed with receding gums and can only eat soft food for the rest of my life. Then the dentist told me that this typically only happens to people over fifty who don’t take care of their teeth. FML

Today, I had to spend £200 at the dentist for fillings and repairs to my teeth. Why do I need them? Because I'm stressed about money and grind my teeth in the night because of it. FML

Yeah, when I get the urge to grind, my jaw tightens so much it starts to hurt and sometimes I end up subconsciously giving in sometimes I just subconsciously clench my jaw. I try to do other things to distract myself while I'm awake...but my gum chewing habits also get so bad my jaw starts to hurt. Hopefully you can find a way to beat this or you'll probably have to sleep with a mouth guard or something. Good luck! For me, I notice I feel the urge to grind more when I'm stressed or when it's brought up. Haha, you don't know how much I wanna just do it right now, Haha. I sometimes chatter my teeth to get over a huge urge, lol. Only when I'm alone.
