Ok, I can see why she threw out the mangos, but the book? Really?

I mean - why would you be buying a book, let alone a romance novel for a coworker, unless that's what she asked for/indicated? If there was some indication that was the specific preference - YDI for ignoring her preferences. If not, then yeah, FYL. P.S. Dried mangos are delicious.

It can be tricky to buy a thoughtful present for someone. You really need to know what they like, otherwise you have to be very generic - like a gift card or something… We are all different - Just because you liked these things doesn’t mean coworker does. It’s only a thoughtful gift if it’s something they like.

okay, buying a book for a secret Santa is useless unless you know they will like it. mangos are tasty, but a cheesy gift. you should have just gotten a holiday mug or cut Christmas stocks, etc.. something safe. just sayin

It's really rude to throw out someone's gift's but you really seem to have a bad attitude, what you find cringe other's enjoy.
