Today, and after my divorce finalised, I ended up falling in love with a 28 year-old woman, meaning that she's 16 years younger than I am. I knew I might be judged for it but man, I was not prepared for the levels of abuse I’d receive from my family, and even strangers, who see us holding hands in public and feel the need to make cruel comments. FML

Today, the love of my life, who I’ve finally been able to date after so long, broke up with me. I met her parents for the first time and they don’t approve of me dating her due to our age gap. She’s 18 and I’m 36. Apparently they don’t understand that she’s a consenting adult and can make her own choices. FML

My wife was 17, and I was 27 when we met. She was 22 when we got married. I celebrate my 8th anniversary next month. Screw anyone who dislikes the age gap. As long as it’s legal, everyone can STFU. It’s not their life, and if they have issues with it, it’s THEIR problem, not yours. Remind them of that and grow a spine. I had to cut contact with people who had issues in my circle, and most stress went away.
