Today, I've become so used to being ignored, that not only can I recognize the unique physical and verbal tics (or lack thereof) that certain people have when they're not listening to me, but I can even mutter just about anything under my breath - even in public - completely confident that no one will listen. FML

Good conversation is an art form. You have to be able to read the crowd well enough to know what subjects they are interested in… Two things are no-no’s and if tempted it’s better to just be quiet: … (1) Attempting to make the conversation all about you - Nobody really wants to hear that…. (2) Being rude to the others. It’s Ok to occasionally interrupt or interject when you are sure you can add something relevant - But that can be overdone and then it gets annoying. Likewise don’t insult people, you never know what things are important to others and might be offensive - Stay away from politics and religion except one on one when you know that it’s not offensive.

say something to them when you notice it or you might be making them not want to listen to you by doing all the muttering and ticks.
