Today, my mom had to go off on my grandmother because I don’t have kids yet and she, "wants great grand babies before she dies." My grandmother was going to gift me a baby outfit for me to get another hint. I’m 25 and can’t conceive because of health issues. I may never have my own kids. She knows. FML

Today, I informed my daughter-in-law that I’m a granny, not an unpaid, on-call 24/7 babysitter, and no, I will not be babysitting her kids all day so she can go to an all-day brunch with her similarly selfish girlfriends. She threw an actual tantrum and threatened to put me in a home. FML

Today, I visited my in-laws, whom I thought I was on great terms with. I soon learned that wasn't the case when my mother-in-law yelled at me about how I've been abusing her for years. Ten minutes later, she hugged me and asked me for grandkids. FML

Today, and since we've had our baby, my mother-in-law started coming round more often, then bringing her stuff to stay overnight, then started claiming she lived here, and got hysterical when we told her she doesn’t. I had to pick her up and place her outside while she punched me in the head repeatedly. FML

Today, it was my little girl's birthday and her grandparents came over to celebrate. One of the presents from her grandparents turned out to be a sweater. She then asked, "Mommy, may I please lie?" When I shook my head no, she exclaimed, "I hate this ugly sweater!" FML

To a mother of three to you.. a happily child free individual. Keep fighting for what you want in your life. Keep fighting for what makes you happy in your life, and if that means having no kids, then keep your head high and dont listen to anyone who tries to force or coerce you into parenthood if you dont want it. Parenthood is a personal choice, not an expectation.

Every child deserves to be loved and cared for. This requires parents who want children. Having children just to please someone else is a recipe for disaster.

I completely agree. I was born an unwanted child and I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy. Having children is a personal choice and shouldnt be expected of someone because they are a certain age, gender or because they are married. I've got three kids because I wanted my kids.. it was my choice. There are others who dont want kids at all, and that's perfectly normal as well. My childfree friends love and dote upon my kids. ^_^

OP, my sincere sympathies for either having an in law with dementia or she is an an idiot. But to be honest the crying screaming and kicking on the floor sounds more like dementia than anything else. Be sure to keep an eye on her in the future for other childlike behaviors. And never, ever allow her a key to your home.
