Bad connection

Today, and after a lot of effort to reconnect with my family after a while of limited contact, I found out from the family group text that my mom, sister, and grandmother went on a vacation without me, and I didn’t even know about it until they posted some airport selfies. FML

I understand your feeling left out, but while you were estranged did you expect the rest of the family to either sit at home or keep you informed of their activities? OP, did you do that? … Life is usually long, you will have other activities either with people you choose to be with or with your family. Be glad that you have apparently reconnected with your family and don’t dwell on “what you missed.” If you dwell on that, you are liable to miss out on future good times.

Obviously they don't share your enthusiasm for reconnection. Sadly this is not uncommon in this day and age.

Maybe they booked the holiday while you were not talking to them. I’m sure they were unaware that you would try reconnecting with them at that certain time. I’m sure it was anything against you.
