You're nicked!
Today, I arrived at work, only to be arrested and accused of stealing over $8000 from my job. Five hours later at the police station, the discovery was made that the actual thief had an employee ID one digit different than mine. He works at another location over 1200 miles away. FML

5 hours is fairly quick for the police to understand an embezzlement case...

Better find some lawyer to help you with your mistaken reputation. It might get in your way in the future. Did you get your job back?

Thank God you were cleared; nothing is worse than being accused of stealing and the humiliation of the whole situation coupled with the mind-numbing thought that you would go down for something you didn't do is entirely nightmarish. People are just awful, I hope they find a way to make it up to you, because that is something that will take some time to recover from, and it will be a story you tell for years to come.
