Today, a friend asked me to cover his shift at work because his grandmother died. Like any decent friend, I obliged. Later, after leaving, I walked by a bar and saw him inside, laughing and doing shots with all of our friends. FML
Devils advocate here, maybe the friends took him out to help get his mind off of what happened? Pretty sure my husband tried to cheer my up after my grandma passed last year.

Every time they ask you to cover a shift just be like "Sorry, my grandmother just died"

Maybe she was a horrible bitch! Some people are so nasty and miserable, their death causes glee in their surviving relatives.

Yea, I think they call those "wakes."

I haven't been to many wakes, but it's never been for someone so horrible that the mood is jubilant.

Maybe they’re Irish and that was the wake

I would’ve taken a picture and sent it to his boss. He lied about the death and had you cover the shift.
