Weird and scary
Today, the guy who has harassed me every day for a month straight proposed, with an actual diamond ring which he’d burned the receipt for. I said no, of course. Later, I found out that he’d attempted suicide. Twice. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was out with my boyfriend, when he started browsing wedding rings. He found a ring, proposed to me right there in front of a crowd, and then was promptly denied a payment plan. We left without a ring. FML
Today, an ex-boyfriend of mine came to the jewelry store I work at to pick out an engagement ring for his girlfriend. The same guy who just a few months earlier ended our 8-year relationship because I wanted marriage and he didn't. FML
Today, my boyfriend of six years proposed to me. Less than three hours later, he panicked and made me give the ring back. FML
Today, I woke up with an engagement ring on my left hand. The same one I refused last month. My boyfriend apparently waited for me to be drunk to propose again last night, and has already posted the pics on Facebook. FML
Today, I finally made the last payment on the beautiful engagement ring I bought and proposed with - two years ago. To my ex-girlfriend, who said no and promptly started sleeping with one of my friends. FML
Today, my boyfriend won a diamond engagement ring through a citywide competition. Instead of proposing to me, he's selling it. FML
Today, it's been two years since my fiancé proposed, drunk, and with no ring. Recently, I overheard him on a Zoom call with a work colleague who'd not talked to him since he was with his last girlfriend, who was much more attractive than I am. The colleague asked if they were still together and he lied and said yes. FML
Today, I found out my boyfriend was going to propose. He'd bought me a beautiful white gold ring that I never got to see. His estranged mom stole the ring. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me by tossing the ring at me and saying "Here, wear this." FML
Today, my very cheap boyfriend of four years proposed. I was overwhelmed with emotion, since he bought such a huge, seemingly-diamond ring. I was later overwhelmed with emotion when my finger turned green. FML

I knew a girl whose fiancée at the time threatened to kill himself if she ever broke it off as a way of manipulation. It took a long time for her to realize she was not responsible for his choices. Nor are you for this guys. Obviously the harassment sucks, but don’t for a second feel guilty about the choices he made, because they’re his, not yours.

No matter what happens and no matter what people tell you, DO NOT EVER feel guilty because of this guy's choice and behaviour! This is an attempt at manipulation and guilt-tripping. He decided to buy the ring, you did not ask for it. If he continues to harass you, call the police and fill a complaint. No means no and enough is enough.

My very recent ex used to do exactly this to me. Last time was Christmas Day. He did it throughout the last two years of pur relationship and it makes you feel very trapped, helpless and generally just like s***. It took me a long time to realise exactly what you've just said, it's incredibly difficult to grasp that concept whilst you're in that situation though

Humble-Brag of the Week! You're so hot, you're "to die for," almost literally.

Count yourself lucky. He tried suicide twice and failed. What else was he bad at?
